Why you should join Texas A&M Emergency Care Team
- You get hands on patient contact which looks great on any resume. It looks good in any field, but it especially looks good in any medical field (pre-med, pre-PA, pre-nursing, ect)
- We teach you a majority of TAMU EMS protocols on patient care which looks great if you want to work as an EMT for A&M
- We do lots of social events like a halloween party, banquets, and smores at Lake Bryan
- Get to meet an incredible community of people who have similar interests as you
Who can join Care Team?
Almost anyone. If your GPA is above a 2.0, you are welcome to join! No experience is required and many of our members come in with zero medical exposure. All A&M, Blinn, and RELLIS students are welcome to come if they can make it to meetings and events on A&M’s campus.
How do I join Care Team?
We’re accepting applications for Fall 2022!
Complete and submit a New Member Application (instructions below):

Once accepted, you will receive a message from our Secretary, Divya, with how to pay dues and sign up for classes

Pay dues ($40 per semester, $60 per year)

Then, go to: https://maroonlink.tamu.edu/organization/tamect and request to join our organization

Take and pass the following short education classes
-
Introduction
-
Healthcare Provider CPR*
-
Advanced First Aid – Medical
-
Advanced First Aid – Trauma
- Clearing Review
-

Pass knowledge and skills clearing tests
-
Attend 3 meetings and 2 socials
NOTE: Our education team is comprised of full time students and, as such, the times we have available for courses is limited. Thus, we cannot guarantee you to clear all of your classes in one semester. Our recommendation is to get the New Member Application turned in as soon as you can so that you have the best shot of signing up for our classes.
NOTE: If you are unable to sign up for education classes, do not fret! We have plenty of other opportunities for our members to receive organizational hours. Opportunities such as community service events (Big Event, Kyle Field Cleanup, Reed Arena Cleanup, etc.), PR events (making Valentine’s cards for nursing home residents, Probie Meet and Greet, etc.) and monthly socials (ice skating, bowling, etc.)!
